Parking Problems
The Anchorage complex is made up of privately owned apartments and managed by AE on of the main features of the development is the provision of off street parking in the main car park this is for the use of the owners, residents and their guests.
Recently with redevelopment of commercial and offices space in the City Centre and the cost of parking drivers are increasingly using private car parks as a cheap alternative. This unauthorized parking is an inconvenience to the residents and has caused problems with waste collection vehicles entering and leaving the complex and further to the nuisance is a hazard for emergency vehicles.
After careful consideration and to reduce the inconvenience to the residents new parking restrictions are to be introduced. The development has active CCTV that will record all vehicles entering and leaving the complex this allows for monitoring habitual offenders.
How it will work
Unauthorized parked vehicles will be removed from the car park and taken to a secure compound by a registered private contractor a fee will be required for the release of the vehicle in the order of £100 this is to cover the costs of removal. Notices will be displayed in the car park advising drivers that they are at risk of having their vehicle removed. The recovery company will charge a fixed fee of £50 per day for storage of the vehicle until collection when payment will be made in full.
